South Asian quake toll nears 20,000

The last time I checked yesterday, the forecasts of death toll in Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan are around 1,000. But as of this post, casualty numbers have passed the 19,000th mark, BBC News reported. "At least 42,000 are believed to be injured." The South Asian countries were hit by an earthquake measuring 7.6 magnitude on the Richter scale. More on BBC News In-Depth.
